Mission Committee: New Members

We are always looking for new members to help. If you are curious or inspired, please join us at our next meeting, Wednesday, March 14th at 9:15 AM.

Jr. Choir Rehearsal

Choir rehearsals will begin every other Wednesday. The next practice will be held on February 28th at 5:45pm.

VBS Fun Shop

On Saturday, March 3 the Westhampton Methodist Church will hold a Fun Shop for VBS 2018, Shipwrecked! Rescued by Jesus from 8:30am-12:30pm. If you RSVP prior to Feb. 19th the registration fee will be $20 per person or five or more at $15 per person. After Feb. 19th registration is $40 per person. Please talk to the Sunday School teachers if you would like to participate.

We are pleased to welcome Rev. Ralph Wright to the pulpit this morning!

The Rev. Ralph B. Wright, Jr. is the honorably retired pastor of the Yaphank Presbyterian Church, Yaphank, New York. For over 15 years he served on the Board of Trustees and now serves on the Budget Committee and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Committee of the Presbytery of Long Island.  He also serves as pulpit supply for the Presbytery, having most recently completed a year and half ministry with the Community Presbyterian Church of Merrick.  Most of Pastor Ralph’s ministry has been that of a Tentmaker, namely serving a church while being employed in a secular occupation.  He has served churches in both California and New York.  His employment has included working for General Electric, the United Way of Los Angeles, the American Red Cross and the International Red Cross.  In these capacities he has worked in Africa, Europe and North America.  He is presently the president of E&R Tax and Business Services, Inc., a family owned accounting firm, located in Patchogue, New York.

Plumb Line Update

At Tuesday’s Session meeting the revised Plumb Line report was approved. On January 9th it will go again to the Committee on Ministry of Presbytery for approval. We will hold a congregational meeting to elect the PNC on January 14th.

Red poinsettia plants may be ordered to adorn the sanctuary on December 17th at a cost of $18 per plant. The deadline for orders is December 11th. Please make your checks payable to Westhampton Presbyterian Church (memo: Poinsettias) and fill out a dedication form to which will be presented in the bulletin on December 17th.

LI Brass Christmas Concert

On December 17th LI Brass will be joining the choir in a special Christmas concert during the 10am service. Christmas Cocktail Party and Santa Brunch

Join in the festivities and support our church at the home of John and Meryle King, Friday, December 15 at 6pm. Tickets are on sale for $30 during coffee hour or during the week in the church office. The Presbytery did not accept our manuscript. They gave it high marks for honesty and clarity, but they want us to add a new paragraph that had not been asked for previously. This means that we are delayed searching for a new minister by at least one month. –Stu Wood

Poinsettia Plants

Red poinsettia plants may be ordered to adorn the sanctuary on December 17th at a cost of $18 per plant. The deadline for orders is December 11th. Please make your checks payable to Westhampton Presbyterian Church (memo: Poinsettias) and fill out a dedication form to which will be presented in the bulletin on December 17th.

Deacons Meal Ministry

A meal ministry program is available by the deacon’s committee to anyone in our congregation who may be in need. Each meal also comes with a visit from a friendly face of someone in our congregation. Please contact: Vern Hackworth, Meal Ministry Coordinator:

Christmas Cocktail Party and holiday fun!

Join in the festivities and support our church at the home of John and Meryle King, Friday, December 15 at 6pm. Tickets are on sale for $30 during coffee hour. You may also purchase raffle tickets for the “tree of treats”. The tree carries lottery tickets, gift cards and grocery cards totaling $250! Raffle tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be during the Santa Brunch on December 17 so be sure to sign up for brunch! Calling all bakers!!
