Christian Sympathy

We express our deepest sympathy to Stu, Randy, Laura and the entire family on the death of beloved wife, mother, grandmother and member of our church, Marilyn Wood, on Monday, September 11. A memorial service was held at WPC on Saturday, September 16 followed by an interment in the Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the WPC Memorial Fund or an animal rescue organization of your choice.

Christian Sympathy

We express our deepest sympathy to Jesse Deihl and the entire family on the death of her beloved mother and member of our church, Linni Deihl, on Monday, September 11. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel on Sunday, September 24th at 4:30pm, followed by an interment in the Memorial Garden and a reception in the Fellowship Hall.

Congratulations to Kyle & Stephanie Miller on the birth of their baby boy, Lochan Francis Miller on Wednesday, August 30!

Please mark your calendars accordingly; the new date is set for the Fall Rummage sale, Friday, October 20 from 9am-3pm and Saturday, October 21 from 9am-12:30pm. Setup will begin Sunday, October 15.

The Scrap Metal Drive will be Saturday, October 21 from 9am-3pm.

Fundraising Committee: Summer Tea & Fashion Show

A successful fundraising event at the Manse last Saturday, August 12! Faces from our congregation as well as our neighbors attended. A delightful rainy afternoon was had by all! A spectacular array of clothing provided by Diana’s Unique Boutique on Main Street adorned the ladies of our congregation walking the “catwalk”. As usual, the Deacons did a beautiful job providing tea, sandwiches, and sweets.

Please welcome Rev. Kate Jones Calone to the pulpit this morning!

Rev. Kate Jones Calone is the director of the Open Door Exchange ministry at Setauket Presbyterian Church, which seeks to rebuild hope for Long Islanders in need by helping to furnish their homes, a crucial step toward stability and a better future. Open Door Exchange collects gently used furniture from the community and provides it without charge to individuals and families transitioning from homelessness, displacement following a natural disaster, or military service, or to those who simply cannot afford to purchase basic furnishings (www.opendoorexchange.org). Kate lives in Setauket with her husband, Dave, and three children.

Summer Tea & Fashion Show at the Manse

Buy your tickets and come join the fun! Summer Tea & Fashion Show at the Manse on Saturday, August 12 from 2pm-4pm. Tickets can be purchased for $20 at the church office from 9am-noon during the week, after the Sanctuary service in the fellowship hall on Sundays or anytime at Lynne’s Cards and Gifts. The fashion is being provided by Unique Boutique and the models are all members of our congregation.

Food is being provided by the deacons.

The funds that are raised in the 2017 Summer Appeal will be used for much needed technology updates at the church.

There will also be a gathering at Allison Worthington’s house on Monday, August 28th from 5:30pm-7pm to provide an update on the status of the appeal and to say thank you to those who gave towards the appeal.

Summer Appeal offering envelopes are also in the pews or you can mark any check Summer Appeal.
